My full name is Benjamin David Miller. I was born on January 19, 1991 in Princeton, NJ and grew up in the small town of Millstone. I grew up playing baseball during the summer and snowboarding with my family during the winter. I played baseball until my junior year of high school when we won the first baseball State Championship at Allentown High. I decided to "retire" my glove and bat from competitive play after that season and began to play hockey when I was eighteen and have been playing competitively and non-competitively ever since. I also enjoy playing and performing music. I got involved in music at a very early age when I started playing piano at age six and then drumming when I was eight. I loved learning how to read music and making beats to play along with a band so I joined my elementary, middle, and high school bands. I also decided to learn how to play the saxophone when I was a junior in high school in addition to the two instruments I already knew how to play. I even got to play in the jazz band my senior year of high school. When I got accepted to Rutgers University I was excited to try new things and meet new people so I immersed myself in new activities like the Ski/Snowboard Racing Team, Roller Hockey Team, Drumline, and Salsa Club. It was through these clubs and activities that I have met the majority of my friends going through high school and college. As I look forward to becoming a future educator, I hope to be involved in extracurricular activities as much as I can so I can help young students find the friends and the fun that I found in all the activities I was a part of.
